At Stafford Railway Building Society we try and stand out from our competitors by offering a mortgage product that's adaptable to your needs. Currently however (with the exception of existing members) we are only able to offer mortgages within the ST15-ST21 post code areas.

You’ll be free to make over-payments at any time, change the term of your mortgage or pre-arrange a payment holiday without worrying about any additional charges. This means you shouldn't incur any fees or charges during the life of your mortgage.

Also, we pride ourselves on offering a first class service to all of our members. You only need to make one phone call to our Stafford office on 0845 456 1001 (local rate) and in most cases you will receive a decision the very same day. You will usually be able to speak to the same person throughout the processing of your mortgage.

Alternatively you may complete our online application form if you qualify. If you would simply like to discuss your situation, complete our callback form and we’ll contact you at a time that is convenient for you as long as it is during office hours.

ALL information issued by the Society about mortgages complies with the requirements of government mortgage regulation. However if you apply for a mortgage on a “buy to let” property, a commercial property or a property less than 40% of which will be used as your prime residence, the Society will offer you the same level of service as other borrowers but your mortgage will NOT be covered by mortgage regulation and you will NOT enjoy any of the protection which it offers.

The Society will be required to carry out money laundering checks in respect of all applicants. Requirements are the ame as those for savers - see "Savings" "How to open an account".
